The child had a great love of cars, and the school wanted a meaningful, joyful way for the children to remember their friend while engaging in play — something that reflected his personality and spirit. Our team was given the responsibility to design and construct something entirely bespoke, with full creative freedom to produce a feature that would capture the child’s passion and bring lasting joy to his friends and classmates. The result was a hand-crafted concrete car track, designed for Hot Wheels–sized toy cars, offering a playful yet heartfelt tribute within the school grounds. Key features include: Hot Wheels–Sized Concrete Track: Specifically designed for small toy cars such as Hot Wheels, allowing pupils to race and play in a way that celebrates their friend’s interests. Bespoke Layout: The track’s shape, curves, and straights were carefully planned to create an engaging play experience while fitting seamlessly within the playground. Durable, Smooth Finish: Constructed from precision-finished concrete to provide a safe, consistent surface that will last for years to come with minimal maintenance. Meaningful Legacy: The track is more than just a play feature — it’s a joyful, living memorial that invites children to connect, play, and remember their friend in a positive, uplifting way. As with all school-based projects, this installation required careful coordination and sensitivity: Minimising Disruption: Works were planned around the school’s schedule to ensure safety and minimise any impact on daily routines. Precision Groundwork: The compact scale and bespoke design required exact setting out and finishing to achieve the desired proportions and flow for Hot Wheels–sized vehicles. Respectful Delivery: Given the emotional nature of the project, our team approached the work with care and attention, ensuring the finished piece reflected the sensitivity and significance of the commission.
